The following message is from Ron Lischeid, who is running for City Council in Minneapolis:
As most of you probably know, I am running for the Minneapolis City Council from the Second Ward (part of SE Como, U of M campus, Cedar-Riverside, Prospect Park and Seward). The primary election is this coming Tuesday, September 13th. Minneapolis has a 'winner takes all' primary system where the top two vote-getters in the primary move on to the general election in November - everyone else goes home.
I am looking for volunteers who would be willing to invest between 1-2 hours helping to distribute campaign literature door-to-door this coming Sunday afternoon. Some of the areas that need the literature are in the dormitories on the U campus- it would involve walking up and down the halls of the dorms. Other routes are out in the neighborhoods. I have already taken care of the high rise apartments in the ward.
You can come to Stub and Herb's on the corner of Oak Street and Washington Avenue anytime after noon. I will have a map of a small area in the ward that I would like you to walk.
Most of the routes will take less than an hour complete. You will pick up enough literature to cover your assigned area. If you decide that you want to take a couple of routes, that would be super!!
The Vikings play at noon on Sunday - if you are a fan, watch the game and come on over afterwards. Or come at noon, pass out your literature and come on back to see the end of the game at Stub and Herb's - remember, the Vikings always win or lose the game in the last 2 minutes anyway.
RSVP a 'Yea' or 'Nay' so that I can get an idea how many people might be coming. And thanks for your help in advance.
