It is our sad duty to report the news of Brother Mark Erickson's (AB '01) passing on April 22, 2005.

Mark Lawrence Erickson, 26, of Scottsdale, Arizona Formerly of Braham and Minneapolis Died of natural causes unexpectedly but peacefully at home, in his sleep on April 22, 2005. Mark was born February 19, 1979, in Cambridge, Minnesota. He was confirmed May 2, 1993, at Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church in Braham, Minnesota where he remained a church member. Mark graduated from Braham Area High School on May 30, 1997. Throughout his school years he was involved in basketball, football, golf, baseball, musical, and speech. Mark attended the University of Minnesota and was very involved in college life, especially Zeta Psi fraternity activities. He was the vice-president of programming for the Interfraternity Council on the Minnneapolis campus, and served as recruitment chair and treasurer for Zeta Psi. Mark graduated from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business - Marketing in December 2001. Mark was employed at General Mills, working first in Arkansas, then relocating back to Minneapolis. He was transferred to General Mills Western Business Center in Scottsdale, AZ in September, 2003, where he advanced to the position of business planning manager on the Albertesons team. Mark was a valued, successful employee who was well-liked and respected by his co-workers. Mark enjoyed traveling and living in other states but always considered Minnesota home and was working toward and looking forward to returning to Minneapolis in the near future. He enjoyed family activities and special events, spending time with friends, reading, playing golf, and fishing. Mark was preceded in death by: his grandparents Julius and Rebecca Cherra (Duluth, MN), Lawrence and Anne Erickson (Hermantown, MN); and one niece, Alyssa. He is survived by: his parents Clarence and Dixie Erickson (Braham, MN); his two sisters and their families, Jennifer and Mark Bergan, Lindsay, Joshua and Hannah (Forest Lake, MN), and Michelle and Christopher Ganey, Elizabeth and Camilla (Antonia, MO); a large extended family; and many, many dear friends. Mark's enthusiasm for life and work was contagious; he was kind, compassionate, generous, and sensitive to others' needs. Mark was devoted to his work, family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered and missed beyond words. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30 at BRAHAM EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH at 11AM. Visitation will be on Friday, April 29 from 4-8PM at ROCK MANKIE FUNERAL HOME, Braham, MN 320-396-2121.
